On her first day at Nebulan's Tower, Adrasha Vaux came across the remains of a bloody battle. Amongst all the wreckage and corpses this shortsword stood out to her because of it's high quality, but also because it holds an unknown enchantment. She took it with her, sharpened, polished, and christened it Atholasha which means 'new life'. She hoped she would never have to use it in her quest for a peaceful life, but though she has run from the war, another war has come straight to her.
It's enchantments are not fully known to Adrasha but she has the sense that 'It chose her' by calling her to it, and has seen it glow when she said it's name. It will continue to call to her as long as she is still living and if it leaves her possession, she will be compelled to go after it.
Atholasha's blade holds a small fragment of a super weapon created by the arch-haemomancer Deftinfox, which was supposed to be, in tales and legends spun about it, able to deny anything of its existence. Answering from this description, the ancient people and even Deftinfox himself dubbed the weapon "Ender". If left embedded in Esrever's chest, he will remain dead.
