Overview

Adrasha Vaux is a 39 year old castaway/runaway who has had much experience in war, fighting, and imprisonment. She is skilled with both bow and blade and works well with her hands. Finding herself on the isle of Nebulan's Tower of the Arts, she has proceeded to attempt to make a home of it.

Physical Traits and Appearance

Adrasha has light brown hair that she always wears short so it doesn't get in the way. She likes to wear simple clothing; blouses, sturdy pants, and sensible boots, but since battling anew with the pirates and having her stocks ransacked by Griseham's crew, she has been left with only a few dresses hanging in her closets and whatever she can scavenge off the fresh corpses.

Mentality

Adrasha is stubborn. Years of war and harsh imprisonment have left her with few social graces, though she is not without compassion. Her imprisonment has also left her emotionally unstable and prone to mood swings. She hates this quality and her inability to always control her reactions, but her outbursts have had more benefit than she has recognized. Adrasha's most valuable possession is an amulet that holds the soul of her son. Since its creation, she has feared dying before being able to free her son's soul from it and fights with renewed viciousness when she feels the amulet of her life is really threatened. She currently wishes for peace but is very distrustful of other people. She has chosen a life of solitude though it is more difficult to accomplish than she thought it would be.

Residence

She is currently living in Nebulan's abandoned tower.

Duties

She has none other than gathering food for herself, protecting her amulet, and caring for her wolf pups.

History

Adrasha grew up in a rough home with an abusive father who eventually forced her to dig her own mothers grave after one of his beatings went too far. Tired of the abuse and old enough to realize it wasn't 'the way things were supposed to be', she ran away at 14 years of age to join the army. Needless to say, her first few years were brutal. There were more than a few men who had no qualms with showing her just how tough a soldier had to be. The beatings were sometimes worse than those of her father. She learned to sleep with one eye open, how to run faster than whoever was chasing her, and how to make absolutely no sounds when the situation demanded it. She was quick to pick up on the benefits of agility and awareness. Through it all she showed intense determination. She came to every training no matter how bruised she was, and she never complained. By the time her third year came around, she had gained enough strength and the respect to thwart most attacks. If an errant cocky recruit tried to take her on, they only did it once.

Shortly after her 18th Birthday, she was promoted to Private First Class and had climbed all the way to Captain by the age of 24. She was soon courted by Private Richard Vaux who managed to crack through her hard exterior and hatred for men. At 26 they wed and at 28 she gave birth to a son they named Tyler. They both decided to put their military careers aside to raise their son and bought a farm in Andaria.

Two years later, the newly appointed General Master Ackrovan approached her offering her the position of Lieutenant General. It was an opportunity she couldn't pass up. An opportunity her husband wouldn't let her pass up. She was granted generous home time in between scrimmages and served faithfully for the next four years until the rebellion. An uprising in the province where her family lived prompted the High Council of the Kingdom to strike hard and fast. They ordered Ackrovan to take his army there and burn everything. Adrasha, knowing that there were many families like her own there that had nothing to do with the rebellion, refused to be a part of the raid and quit to go protect her family. When she arrived, however, she was already too late. Richard lay dying and the High Council ordered her arrested for treason. They used her son to gain her compliance and went as far as to torture him to extract information from her. Information that she didn't even have. Three years into her imprisonment, the experiments started and eventually led to Tyleraywa, an amulet that held her son's soul. Eventually Adrasha had feigned brokenness and gained enough trust to be used as a slave. After two long years of watching and plotting for an opportunity, Adrasha managed to acquire the amulet and escape on a dingy in the middle of the ocean. Thusly, the story begins.

Relationship with Others

Adrasha wants peace with everyone or rather isolation from everyone. She has seen too much of death in her opinion, but she will defend herself to the death if necessary.

So far IC she has been taken prisoner by Raanil, kidnapped and interrogated by Griseham and company, briefly shuttled by Adalia, interrogated by Nebulan, and hexed by Esrever. Is it any wonder why she prefers solitude? She also has a past with Ackrovan that hasn't been covered IC yet.

Raanil

After mistaking him for a deer and shooting him in the arm, Raanil took Adrasha to his tower and put her in a cell for interrogation. After the misunderstanding was cleared up he set her free and aided her in fighting the pirates that had swarmed the isle while they were gone. He also helped her get back to the isle after Griseham had kidnapped her and refused to help her get back. Raanil gave Adrasha a ring and enchanted it to protect her and provide a link for scrying her position. Adrasha almost trusts him though not fully.

Griseham

Adrasha considers Griseham and his follower no better than common thieves since they raided her new home and took everything that wasn't nailed down. Worse than common thieves actually since they are hypocritical in their attitude towards their actions.

Adalia

Adrasha doesn't know much about her except that she knows Raanil and has a boat that travels underwarer. What she remembers of her, though, is more like a dream and she probably wouldn't be able to pick her out of a crowd.

Nebulan

Adrasha knows of Nebulan and his fame in owning the Tower of the Arts that she resides in, but personally, she has only had the one brief encounter with him and it did nothing to help her form an opinion on him.

Esrever

From their brief exchange, Adrasha only knows his touch causes dread like she's never felt before. The dread of his touch is still not more than the dread of losing her amulet to him. She will pursue him relentlessly until she gets it back or dies trying.

Ackrovan

Adrasha and Ackrovan first met fifteen years ago when she was a fresh and promising member of the Kingdom's army. Six years later Ackrovan had become a commander and offered her the position of second in command. She served faithfully under him for four years until the rebellion when she quit to protect her family. She hasn't seen Ackrovan since, and had felt betrayed by his disregard of them.

Abilities

Adrasha is an apt fighter with both bow and blade, her years of war training and experience have ingrained many quirks deeply into her psyche. Like quickly assessing every situation, finding options, and identifying salvageable and useful items.

Possessions

Adrasha had only her amulet and what she found at Nebulan's Tower when she arrived, but she has sifted through everything and pulled out a full compliment of war gear, sword, bow, and arrows among other things that have not been mentioned IC. When Griseham raided the tower, she escaped with only her bow with one quiver of arrows, her dagger, her sword and the clothes on her back. There may be things that they hadn't found and things she can scavenge from the new corpses but it will be nothing like the quality stuff she had.

Atholasha

Main Article: Atholasha

The sword she picked up on her first day at Nebulan's Tower. It chose her to be it's wielder and glowed when she spoke it's name. Unknown to Adrasha, she is now drawn to it when it is not in her possession. As long as she is alive, she will seek it out. It has the power to stop Esrever as long as it is embedded in his chest.

Tyleraywa

The soul of her son is held in an Amulet that she usually carries either around her neck or in an ornate wooden box that is four inches long on each side. The stone is Onyx but it shimmers with fluidity if you stare at it. Tyler was six when he was taken prisoner with his mother. His age is now technically 10 though because of his perpetual imprisonment and the trauma of being tortured, his mentality has matured intellectually but not emotionally.

NPC Acquaintances
