Overview

Aodhan is a mage in A New World Opens. He is full of powerful magic, but he is a slave of Duke Hexen, trapped by magical manacles that drive him to obey every wish and whim of the Duke. His magic is stolen away to do whatever Hexen wishes, whenever he wishes.

Physical Traits and Appearance

'A young man, really, but old. Tragically old. Lines etched deep, into a beardless face that had barely seen a score of years. His pale, ghostly face was framed with unnatural red waves. A back hunched over with a weight too heavy for a million to bear. A frame skeletal, all flesh eaten away by parasitic troubles. Great, golden manacles around his quavering hands. The heavy chain hung down to the floor.'

Mentality

Desperate to be free, but for the most part resigned to his fate.

Residence

In a simple, lightless room in Duke Hexen's tower.

Duties

To do for Hexen whatever Hexen wishes, including conversation and surrender of his magical abilities.

Relationship with Others

None yet.

Abilities

He has the ability to do many magical incantations but not the power to control what is done with it while the manacles are on.

Possessions

Nothing, being a slave.

NPC Acquaintances

Duke Hexen

Aodhan's master. 'Tall and somewhat muscled. Gray of hair and beard, with a blocky face and heavy hands. He was nobility, and of the highest breed. His lineage was indeed traced back to kings of old. He was simply made - Nothing outstanding, nothing appearing so, anyways. Sturdy of mind, he was, and legendary for it. Duke Sensible, he was often called. As friend or enemy, depending upon the speaker. A strictly practical man, he did not indulge in fine foods, fine clothes, or fine drink as many others did. His veins did not burn with ambition or bloodlust. Money he had amassed in great amounts, but only as a tool. He had partaken in momentous events - the coronation of four kings, two formal military victories, dozens of battles (As a reliable tactician). Also, countless remarkable laws, stunning edicts, powerful meetings. Successful, content, and in all ways secure.'

Count Turney

A noble mentioned by Duke Hexen.

Baroness Victoria

A noble mentioned by Duke Hexen.

Exile

A foreigner above the rank of foot soldier in Duke Hexen's mage army. Hexen sent him to examine Nebulan's Tower. Dressed in overtly flasy and colorful clothing.

Hesheit

A crewmember of the boat that Exile is sailing to Nebulan's Tower on. Speaks unintelligibly and resembles the boat.
