All of Ackrovan's desires, whether it be magic, science, history, or even war laid on these shelves. Ironcally, because of the barrier that had protected the library for so long, it was impossible to reach up and grab one without your hand being incinerated into a neat pile of ash. So he stared at them, wishing his own mages were smart enough to pierce through the barrier. --Ackrovan

Overview

Ackrovan is a character in A New World Opens.

For as of yet unknown reasons, Ackrovan, or the 'Archon', is attempting to restore the Spire of Archon. Due to his unique persasive and zealous attitude, he has collected a large number of followers.

Physical Traits and Appearance

Standing at nearly 6 feet 5 inches tall, Ackrovan's body has been grizzled by the years of fighting he has undertaken, and the glorifying humane and political reasons for it.

Mentality

Thirsty for knowledge, but in a rational way.

Residence

Ackrovan's home is known as 'the Spire'. It is massive and mostly in disrepair but he is rebuilding it. He spends much time at the Library which has been preserved by a magic barrier but it also keeps the Archon out of reach of the books that have been protected.

Duties

Leading his followers and restoring his Spire.

Relationship with Others

Grisham - He and Ackrovan knew each other once, a very long time ago. Back when Grisham was working for Lord Turin. Ackrovan is interested in speaking to him again, but other than that, the feeling is mutual.

Abilities

Other than being able to read ancient inscriptions, Ackrovan's abilities remain unknown.

Archmage Beth

Ackrovan's assistant. "She was a young and vibrant women, especially for her almost inept knowledge of magic. Almost thirty years of age, her blond hair and peach skin had yet to show the countless hours she had spent deep in books, both of mundane and arcane kinds. Whether it was a legitimate tan or slight magical altering was up for grabs."


Senior Jokian

A elderly mage, who heads the Rune Interpretation of the Spire. Currently serveing Ackrovan, under the belief that he will eventually be rewarded with access to advanced technology and tomes from the Ancients. "If a zombie could put on clean robes, hide their scent, and talk without any lingering stench, then it would be this man. His skin had more wrinkles then a shriveled up fish, and his hair was in less quantities that a bald eagle. His bony fingers desperately clung to a thin staff that looked like it could give out at any moment. He at one point even served under Duke Hexan at castle Hexan itself. He faked his on death, however, to join Ackrovan."

Captain of the Stalker. One ship in the Archon's fleet. Possibly Lord Ackrovan's best Ship Captain

Captain Kerry

One of Kerry's finest soldiers, he commands one of Ackrovan's troops. Although he currently only has 70 soldiers, he is striving to train and prepare more troops for Ackrovan.
