Rings

Rings are large circular structures about 1 Sn in diameter. Capable of ripping through the fabric of the universe, Rings can instantaneously transport matter to a destination. Rings have one specific destination that is 'locked in' and is impossible to change once locked in. Due to the extremely high costs of producing Rings, a hub-and-spoke system is used for all Ring transportation. After the disaster at Cronus, control and ownership of the Rings was given to the Ringwatchers, a group independent of all nations. The Ringwatchers have sworn neutrality, and will offer transportation for anyone from anywhere, for no price. The construction, upkeep, and defense of the Ring is payed for by the system containing the Ring. The direction in which paired Rings work is reversed every twenty-four hours, although low-traffic Rings will commonly switch as ships arrive.

Derilict Navy Shipyards

Set in geostationary orbit over Saralin (on Derilict IV), the Navy Shipyards is a huge array of scaffolding and equipment capable of producing all sizes of ships, from T-86 Starlancers to Derilict Starcruisers. At peak output, and if enough metal is mined from Derilict V, the station can output twelve squadrons of Starlancers every forty days, while still building other spacecraft as well.
