You aren't going to find glory on a battlefield. You'll learn real quick, you don't fight for glory. You fight for the guy next to you in the trenches, because you know he's fighting for you.

—Tehara d'Vyan, Off to Ionar

Tehara d'Vyan is a character in UtSS.

Appearance

Approximately 23 years old, Tehara looks older than she is. The combination of Vyanat's environment and her service at the Front have left her with an array of scars, including one across her face caused by an airship crash. Her elven heritage has given her slightly-pointed ears and auburn hair. A white streak runs through her hair, caused by a scar. She is of average height and is lean, but strong.

Biography

Pre-RP

The only daughter of a human baker and an elvish factory worker, Tehara was exposed early on to the harsh realities of life. She worked as a child, never attending any schools (none of which accepted those of elvish descent anyways). From a young age, her father taught her the ways of fighting, using his knowledge from his service at the Front. At the age of 17, as is law, she joined the Vyanat military to serve her time at the front.

After serving several months in the trenches at the Front, she developed strong Artifice skills and was transferred to the Vyan Air Support, where combat artificers were in dire shortage. She became a turret gunner and airborne mechanic, and served for over two years aboard various ships, including two interceptor Zeppelins and a bomber.

While serving aboard the bomber, one of the Zanara Bombs exploded while the airship was releasing it's payload. The ship was critically damaged and crash-landed several kays behind enemy lines. Quick action from her comrades on the ground saved her, the only survivor of the wreck, from falling into enemy hands and certain death. Upon her healing from the wounds, she was given a Vyan Airman's Cross and discharged from all military services.

She returned to Vyanat and signed on with as a bounty hunter, tasked with hunting down and executing deserters and spies. During this time, she also operated as an agent of the isle's flourishing black market, so as to supplement her meager pay as a bounty hunter.

Changing Times

Upon returning home one day, Tehara discovered that she had been framed for the murder of the Queen's brother. She was unable to find a way to explain this to the city guards who arrived at he doorstep, and was forced to flee the city via ironway. She rode the train to the small town of Reflin, where she prepared to cross the Front for the last time.

She then boarded a ship bound to Port Zin. Upon arrival, she decided to join the Zanaran military forces. She was assigned to Amethyst's squad and shipped north to Ionar. After surviving the Battle of Artus, she was promoted to corporal and placed in charge of a squad.
