Astor Tillet is a character in UtSS.
Appearance
Astor is 26 years old, and a full-blooded elf. He is approximately 5'7", of slight build, and generally clad in the rough, baggy clothing of a laborer. He wears a white cloth, a symbol of the Revolution, tied around his right hand and forearm. He has short black hair, prominently pointed ears, large grey eyes, and gaunt features. His height, build, ears, and facial features are typical of the elven race.
Biography
Astor was born to two elves, his father a laborer in whatever job he could find, and his mother a washwoman. His childhood was unremarkable, as he began begging and stealing as soon as possible, and working in any factory possible as soon as he was accepted. As he aged, the horrifying environments of his various menial jobs began to wear on him more and more. The periodic appearances of nobility and capitalists, and their opulence, exacerbated this greatly. The long, mindless days on a factory line left his mind to wander and rot, and it was late during one such workday, when he was 13, that he discovered sorcery. At first, a toy, a new realm of possibility and entertainment, the stories of great sorcerers and the miserable conditions of everyone surrounding him eventually brought him to realize the full potential and meaning of his powers. When factories would no longer reliably allow him to work due to his increasing size and demands for pay, he began to, instead, make a living from the few paltry pieces of sorcery he was them capable of, and associate with other undesired workers.
Ideas grew, as did Astor's sorcery, and from small acts by a group of friends was a formally organized Revolution born, when Astor was 19. Recognized as their one real hope for opposing the King, Astor commanded great influence, and helped lead the movement over the next seven years, until it's current state of waging open war upon the forces of the Vyirinti King.
Sorcery
Sorcery is a dangerous art, perilous to the sanity and even humanity of its practitioners. As his life recently has been based around very human concepts - persecution, rebellion, justice, hatred and love, Astor's abilities as a sorcerer are relatively limited. He is still capable of many varied and powerful acts, including control of the elements, telekinesis, and nearly unlimited healing. He is neither immortal nor invincible, but is capable of formidable defensive magic and capable of regenerating from most wounds that are not instantly fatal.
