After returning home to Tuarm, Lord Carmaile receives news that Targus has been bombed. Meanwhile, Oaeren bloodily interrupts a meeting between the Myrae Orthodoxy and the Anarchs regarding an attempt on Lord Carmaile's life. Oaeren returns, only to discover he's being sent to Targus to retrieve Lord Avery, who's gone silent after the attack.
