File:Refuge Isle Revamp.png
A colour map of Refuge Isle, where Calamity Refuge lies. It is a smaller island and the majority of it has not been developed. It was recovered from an older abandoned forum.

Geography

The center of the island is hilly and forested (highest point is 342m, in center of the Isle). Most portions of the isle are undeveloped. The majority of Calamity Refuge lies in the southwest-central portion. A full scan of the Isle is needed to provide more detail.

Development

Several developments lie on the Isle's soil. The largest of them is Calamity Refuge, which occupies a 0.5 mile-wide area in the southwest-central portion.

Map showing subsurface tunnels of the Refuge

Coming off of the Refuge are several access tunnels for maintenance. These tunnels connect to points all over the Isle. They are currently unused pending a full geologic scan of the new Isle. These tunnels are accessible via hatches located in various locations across the Isle.

Several remnants of the Isle's former owners are present in the area, including several ruins. The majority of these have been dismantled, although more may lie outside of the heavily-frequented areas.

History

Pre-Refuge

w-dueck came to the island at an unknown time in the past, when it was completely undeveloped, and began to build on it, first creating the FTP piers for transport of material. He then dug a shaft into the ground several hundred feet deep (where the Admin Tower now stands). Using a combination of magic and machinery, he installed the Database Core into bottom of this shaft. w-dueck then laid the foundations of the Admin Tower over the shaft.

History is rather unclear after this point. It is believed that w-dueck then left the Isle completely for a long period of time, for reasons unknown.

The Isle's history becomes clear again after the completion of the Admin Tower and accompanying machinery. The forums and other buildings of the Refuge were constructed, and w-dueck modified the SimpleBots to match his personal needs, giving them ablilities such as flight, speech, and independent thought.

Refuge Days

After w-dueck announced the opening of the Refuge at Ironycentral, visitors slowly began drifting in, some registering. Notably, Robsta was given permission by w-dueck to build his hut on the Isle.

Later, Nioca requested permission to build his Citadel on Refuge soil. w-dueck granted it.

The Citadel is a major mark on the isle's stucture. While relatively unimposing on the outside, the Citadel has begun leeching power from the Database Core. These actions are currently unknown to w-dueck.

The Isle was later subjected to severe magical teleportation. Jewels had, unknown to w-dueck, used the Roof of the Admin Tower for a spell. This spell damaged the SSMT on the roof at this time. When w-dueck used the SSMT to transport the Refuge Ermarian Legion to Ermaria, the SSMT instead moved the entire Isle, causing severe nightmarish visions for at least one member during the malfunction.

This move destroyed the original Refuge Isle. During the timeframe in which the Isle's remnants were on Ermaria, Nioca was tasked with Moving Calamity Refuge to a new location on the IP. The current Isle, is the result of that labor.
