Physical Appearance

Jewels is approximately 5'4" tall and weighs 130 lbs. She normally has long auburn hair, hazel eyes, and usually wears long flowing dresses. She can sometimes be seen with a spark of fire in her eye.

She recently lost all of her hair when an intense fire fever eruption was turned in on herself by Iffy. The way Azuma healed her skin also caused tiny copper tendrils to grow over her whole body. They are linked to the wedding ring Will gave her as well as many other visible jewelry pieces including a necklace with a three inch long tear shaped pendant, a coronet, arm bands, bracelets, anlkets, and a belt. All of these tendrils and jewelry pieces glow with power from time to time.

Origin

While not much was known about Jewels's past, she has lived at Spiderweb on the internet plane for many years. During the Time-Fracture Incident Jewels rediscovered her birth father, Cinead, Fire Lord of the fire elementals who reside on the fire plane. While talking with Cinead, she was reminded of her mother, a Dryad now deceased. She learned soon after, that Vergil was also the son of Cinead though he had a different mother making him her half-brother.

Her origins were slowly revealed to other characters. Nikki first as an old trusted friend, thenw-dueck for stress release. Evidence of her having a power over fire has been witnessed by Robsta. Nalyd knows she is a half-breed elemental but cares little for other details. Azuma has observed Jewels in fire elemental form long enough to copy the pattern and become one himself. Nioca had been investigating her origins and her connection to Vergil until she attempted to kill him in elemental form and the subsequent spell that connected their minds giving him access to everything that she is and was. Since then Jewels has seen little need to hide her origins and it is now widely known at the Refuge that she is a fire/dryad elemental.

Jewels has also been reunited with her tree, Nana, deep in an Ermaria forest. Nana has helped restore all of Jewels' childhood memories though not much has been revealed IC.

Mentality

Jewels is not always the smartest cookie, but it doesn't bother her. Sometimes she will play dumber than she is to lower the guards of others. She has always enjoyed the outdoors and plant life in general. She is a hopeless romantic and wears her heart on her sleeve, though current events have her hiding her feelings from Sylae and wary of feelings for others.

Originally she feared neither pain, nor death and normally would gladly endure either to spare it of someone else, but when Nioca almost killed her in The Flames of War arc she got a glimpse of the plane of death where souls eventually cease to exist. Her new fear of this plane may impede how willing she is to 'take the bullet' in the future. The recent discovery of her origins and powers have left Jewels at odds with herself and have destabilized her usual calm demeanor.

She struggled with her personality shift and feared what she may become. Especially after experiencing life with only anger where she almost killed Nioca, but to compensate, Jewels searched for a soul binding spell that wouldn't allow herself to hurt any of the Refuge members again. With it in effect, she is no longer able to hurt any she has bonded with caring for their own safety just as much if not more than her own. Nioca accidentally triggered an additional spell when he broke his orb. As a result he is now mind linked with Jewels much to his displeasure. Jewels mentality disintegrated significantly under his barrage of mind attacks but resolved to 'smother him with love' despite his disdain.

At the beginning of the Rebirth saga, the spirits of Nioca and Jewels are both crammed into her body creating a third unstable entity referred to as Jioca OOC. This entity was resolved when the two were separated by Nana. Since then, though, Jewels has suffered from a condition the other Dryads call 'fire fever'. It has been an ongoing debilitating condition that is only kept in check by frequent resting in Nana.

During Nioca's attempted coup of the Refuge where w-dueck linked him to the Refuge as a bot, Jewels also became linked to the Refuge computer. Inability to control her thoughts after the link caused her to 'flame up' and destroy Will's body though his soul lived on and was reincarnated in the body of Sylae. After four months of acclimation, Jewels is better able to handle being linked with the Refuge computer but her fire fever is worse. Since Jewels is unable to keep her condition in check, she has pushed Sylae away in order to keep her safe.

Residence

Jewels has many places of residence. With her adminship, she was offered the 29th floor of the Admin Tower. It has been described in [this] post as similar to a condo apartment. It includes two fireplaces, and an indoor garden. Jewels also has the right to claim the Royal Suite in the castle on the fire plane since she is the current Fire Lord and has the home she grew up in on the same plane. Then there is her tree, Nana, originally in Ermaria and subsequently moved to the Refuge, where Jewels can rest unmolested in utter peace. As a backup residence, she has furnished TrueSite for Blades with the bare minimums and holds a bunk at both Spiderweb and Shadow Vale. She also has an office at Calamity Refuge. It's whereabouts are fuzzily somewhere between the BoA and BoE forums.

Duties

As an administrator, Jewels is free to take charge on any board, though she liked to let the forum mods do most of the work themselves. She also used to leave the maintenance stuff to w-dueck... so basically she just oversaw as a figure for peace keeping. When Will left the Refuge for a while, Jewels took it upon herself to learn how to do the regular maintenance and found it quite easy. Once her mind was linked to the Refuge, she became able to do all maintenance with just a thought. After an initial period of getting used to the computer in her head, she has become quite proficient at it.

Within the fire plane, Jewels has been named the Fire Lord after the assassination of her father. The position is most like an emperor. She left most of the underwork for Kaylas to attend to until he was killed with a spiritkiller weapon. The Stranger took over Kaylas's body and tried to take over as ruler but Vergil captured his soul in a butterfly box. Jewels has yet to return to the Fire Plane which is currently in a ruler-less civil war.

Possessions

A mop, a bucket, a scented candle, and a never empty plate of homemade cookies. Two sets of 12 soul orbs and a vial of shattered crystal. With her appointments to Administrator and Fire Lord, Jewels now has almost anything she wants at her disposal but she only claims the above as her own. With Nioca's enslavement to the Refuge, Jewels has unofficially taken custodial ownership of the citadel and its contents.

Relationship with Others

In general Jewels makes it a practice to love everyone. While this is sometimes most difficult, she has made it her personal motto to 'Love the unlovable'. Evidences of this motto are many within her activities at Spiderweb where she smothers with love unrelentingly. Her relationships with those at CRF depend mostly on their desire or ability to accept her love. Though circumstances at the Refuge have complicated things. Notable relations include:

Nikki

Jewels originally joined CRF because Nikki was a member and made it quite clear to everyone. Nikki eagerly accepted Jewels's attention and their interaction usually consists of flirtatious banter. Nikki rarely visits the Refuge, though, so their interaction has become few and far between.

She has bonded with him in a Soul Orb.

w-dueck

Jewels respected w-dueck for his power and knowledge of technical stuff. As a fellow Admin. Jewels began to trust Will and has fully disclosed her origins to him. Jewels always suspected he had a soft spot for her but was rather taken aback when he proposed to her out of the blue. So used to giving love without it being reciprocated seriously if at all, she was at a loss with how to respond. Within the confusion of her soul binding spell, Will walked in on her and Nioca in a compromising position. Because of this seeming betrayal on her part their relationship was barely cordial for a time. Subsequent events left all forgiven and the two married. Soon after the wedding, though, Jewels lost control of her fire fever which destroyed Will's body. She took his soul to Ice plane to find him a new body, but the only one available was female. While they have tried to continue their relationship despite the technicality, Jewels' fire fever progressed and in an attempt to save Will, now Sylae, from herself, she has let Sylae think she is too disgusted with the prospect of being intimate. Sylae has declared Will deceased and their marriage over. Jewels has been avoiding her.

Vergil

Jewels finds Vergil odd and frustrating but does her best to love him anyway. Finding out that he is her brother has softened her a bit towards him but she still often finds him most annoying. When he killed their father Jewels found it in her heart to forgive him but she may never trust him fully again though she has made much progress through the Flames of War arc. She asked him to walk her down the aisle at her wedding as a symbolic forgiveness he didn't refuse. They have been apart mostly since then. He in the Fire Plane and she in the Ice.

Nioca

While normally Jewels and Nioca get along very well, Jewels' opinion of Nioca has been greatly damaged by the Time-Fracture Incident. Their relationship further disintegrated when Nioca left her for dead during The Flames of War because of his hatred for fire elemenatls (known to him as demons). When Jewels lost her emotions, she attempted to kill him in return, revealing her identity. Nioca was ready to take care of Jewels for good if she showed any signs of aggression and Jewels focused on proving her true intent to Nioca.

She had bonded to him with a Soul Orb but when he broke it in her presence he triggered a more intimate spell that has left them telepathically connected to each other much to Nioca's disdain. For a time, they became one being unofficially known as Jioca and the separation process done by Nana left the tree able to affect both of their memories to Jewels' benefit. When Nioca was enslaved to the Refuge, unofficially known as Niocabot, Jewels took it upon herself to make sure his physical body and effects were taken care of. She also created a doppelganger of him with Blades/Geneforge magics, known as Nio. Nio shares the same mindlink that she and the original Nioca had and also shares the link to the Refuge. His demeanor towards her is much more pleasant though whether it is from Jewels' creation of him that way, his own realization that her past and origins should not count against her, or a carefully concealed ruse is yet to be revealed.

Robsta

Jewels didn't know much about Robsta before the Time-Fracture Incident, but has come to appreciate his character and resourcefulness. He has been missing from the Refuge for some time.
