Noobs are nasty, vicious creatures in Fanciful Tales and Wild Stories of the Refuge. Originating on the Internet Plane, these creatures are, in fact, humans warped by some kind of magical infection carried in the creatures' bite.
Noobs are prevalent on the Internet Plane, where their favored food, Spam, is plentiful. They also are the dominant creature of the Spam Plane. There are also reports of noobs appearing on planes other than the Internet.
Noobs can reproduce like normal mammals, and will give birth to baby noobs. However, noobs lack any parenting instinct and will likely abandon the young noob within a few minutes. They also reproduce by biting humans, and infecting them with noob toxin.
Noob Bites
Noobs are extremely dangerous if a person is caught unaware by one. Whilst a noob cannot actually do too much damage by itself, a single bite can spell what amounts to death for the unfortunate victim. The noob toxin within the bite will immediately start affecting changes to the victim's metabolism, thought patterns, and hormones. Once the metabolism is high enough and the hormones are sufficient, it will then start transforming the victim, modifying his or her anatomy to accommodate and reproduce the noob toxin. It'll twist the body into a more lithe, skeletal shape, with more animalistic features and distorted anatomy.
Treatment
Noob bites must be treated with an anti-toxin or magic quickly, before the toxin finishes adjusting the victim's metabolism and hormones. The moment the victim starts to transform, the damage can't be reversed. Only one known case has survived being almost completely transformed, and it required powerful Black Magic to accomplish. Even resurrection can't repair the damage, since the toxin actually twists the victim's soul permanently.
The amount of time before the damage is irreversible varies depending on the amount of toxin administered and the body weight of the victim. A large dose can start transforming the victim in 15 minutes, while a tiny dose can take up to several hours. Generally, getting the affected person to treatment immediately is the best course of action.
