"Welcome to Ermaria, gentlemen. The land where anything that can go wrong does, and anything that does go wrong tries to kill you." -- Nioca
One of the several planes of existence in Fanciful Tales and Wild Stories of the Refuge. Ermaria, for the most part, was a new and relatively barren plane of existence, except where life and substance had been granted by the gods. Ermaria was recently destroyed at the end of the Destruction of the VRP arc.
These 'gods' are actually Designers or people who have created in part or in whole any number of scenarios using the games Blades of Exile or Blades of Avernum. Most of these designers have no idea that what they're attempting to node or script is actually coming to life within the plane of Ermaria. The few that do know can, if they visit the plane, create anything they like there just by thinking about it, thus why they are considered gods. Although doing so at Ermaria with thought, instead of through the conventional methods of noding and scripting, drains the life force of Designer making it a dangers magic for the unlearned.
Ermaria was the birthplace of Nioca and Jewels' mother. It had been the setting for battles in The Flames of War and had seen much action in the plot to destroy the VRP who are native Ermarians that want to rid their plane and every other plane of the designers that wreak havoc on their world.
Notable places in Ermaria included Koronos; where the major battle in Flames of War took place (also home of the inn The Rusty Bottlecap), Vaw; the city where the VRP were based out of, the province of Trevis; near where other Greenskins had gathered to live, Gvelston Sanctuary; destroyed by the VRP, Nioca's Sanctuary which he created to replace the one that was destroyed, the forest of the Dryads, and the ruins of Calamity Refuge.
Other notable native Ermarians include Yirri, the Stranger, Nana, Jasmine, Syla, and Aryll.
