Aldarian Third Armada
The Aldarian Third Armada is a fleet of ships in Gravemakers and Gunslingers.
The Aldarian space fleet's largest denomination is the Armada, consisting of all the ships based or commanded from a given system. The Third Armada is Aldari's smallest, currently attempting to covertly gain a foothold within the Trisol System. It is being led by Admiral Frae.
Technology
The Third Armada currently is in possession of some of the most advanced spacecraft technology available to Aldari. Of greatest note is AIS [[Radiance], an experimental 'Solcruiser' meant to act as a combined exploration vessel, mothership, and battlecruiser. It's theoretically capable of supporting a small fleet without assistance or additional supplies. It was also sent with three squadrons of experimental Sunfury energy fighters. Both use bleeding-edge reactor, power matrix, solar, propulsion, and scancloaking technology, along with the best shielding, armor, and weapons technology available to Aldari. In addition,
In addition, the ships sent with the experimental craft were outfitted with similar cutting-edge technology, all being brought up to the highest Aldari mil-spec. Most were retro-fitted with a primarily energetic weapons load-out to reduce logistical strain and play to the Radiance's ability to store massive amounts of energy.
Composition
The Third Armada's composition was carefully chosen to try and conceal its origin. The only Aldari-built vessels are the AIS Radiance and the squadrons of Sunfury Fighters, neither of which were deployed or used at any point before the Third Armada's formation. The other vessels are either designs by other Evoron governments, or common civilian designs.
The current composition of the Third Armada is:
- Aldari Solcruiser Radiance, captained by Admiral Frae
- Myon Light Cruiser Panther's Claw, captained by Michael Poln. Currently docked for repair.
- Borean Cargo Frigate Ivory Sails, captained by Melissa Erhart.
- Independent Privateer Vessel Bold Horizon, captained by Jemal Lamos.
- 16 Retro-fitted Civilian Transport and Combat Vessels.
- 36 Sunfury-class Energy Fighters
