This article has more information on the internet plane than its own article did.

New page

There are a number of different planes in Fanciful Tales and Wild Stories of the Refuge, each existing, for the most part, independently of each other.

Thusfar, there are two known kinds of planes: Realistic and Metaphysical. Realistic planes tend to abide by natural laws, and are generally where a creature would live its natural life. Metaphysical planes, on the other hand, tend to be closer to what one might expect from an Afterlife, and abide more by sentient thought and magic.

Realistic Planes
Realistic planes are governed by physics and natural laws. Creatures tend to be corporeal and non-magical on these planes, and magical events are usually rare to uncommon. That said, the more connected a Realistic plane is to a Metaphysical plane or planes, the more magical the Realistic plane becomes. Realistic planes generally are not connected to each other in any way, and most occupants are unaware of other Realistic planes of existence.

On the other hand, Realistic planes tend to be connected directly to at least one or more Metaphysical planes, which generally serve as an afterlife to a deceased creature. It's of note that, despite the creature living out its days on a Realistic plane, it is integrally attached to a Metaphysical plane or planes via its soul. It should also be noted that a person will always return to the same afterlife (or set of them) regardless of which plane that person is currently on.

It should be noted that time flows faster on Realistic planes that are newer and smaller than on older and larger. As a Realistic plane grows older, time flows slower. After about five centuries for a plane, it'll slow to the point that it flows similarly to most other realistic planes. It should be noted that the rate of temporal deceleration also slows as time goes on. However, this temporal deceleration never stops.

Terran Plane
The Terran plane is the plane most humans live in. Contradicting common taught knowledge, the Terran plane is actually a plane of the Elementals. It was the result of all the elemental planes temporarily merging together, than blowing apart, known to the humans as the "Big Bang". The Terran Plane is the biggest and most powerful of the planes due to the fact that humans reproduce incredibly fast compared to Elementals.

The Terran plane has next-to-no magical activity; it is strictly adhered to physical and natural laws. It is connected to two Metaphysical planes, one of heaven and the other of hell.

Ermaria
A recently-created((Comparatively speaking; it has already lasted several dozen human generations)) plane connected to the Internet Plane and the Terran Plane. Mainly populated by humans, it has been the subject of countless monster attacks, magical mishaps, and other such misfortunes since it came into being, rendering it a barely-hospitable wasteland. Most recently, though, it has been subject to an invasion of Fire Elementals, known colloquially by the inhabitants as demons.

The plane was created when Blades of Exile was made. Its noding system, through means unknown, works by drawing the essence of this plane out for the use of whomever wishes to design a scenario. This results in whatever the designer is working on somehow manifesting itself on the plane. Blades of Avernum tapped into this plane even further, with its AvernumScript. Unfortunately, this often times means that Ermarians are subject to whatever monsters or plagues the designer dreams up.

The inhabitants are well-aware that the monsters and afflictions are created elsewhere, and who is responsible. However, they've attributed it to the designers being Gods, testing them and their resolve. Indeed, a Designer gains incredible powers when on this plane, capable of doing incredible feats at the cost of some of their life energy. As this has dragged on over the centuries((Keeping in mind the time differences)), the inhabitants of Ermaria have grown resentful of the Designers, and some have even launched a plot to wipe them out.

Ermaria is connected directly to three Metaphysical planes which serve as the Ermarian afterlife, the Ermarian Maeparphra. It also is connected to the Metaphysical Fire Plane, from which the Fire Elemental invasion comes.

Corellia
:Main Article: Corellia

The plane upon which w-dueck was born and has lived most of his life. It is not known to be linked to any other planes, such as Ermaria or one of the Elemental Planes.

Elemental Planes
Ermarian Maeparphra
The three Metaphysical planes that act as the afterlives for Ermaria. Not much is known about them now.

The Internet Plane
This plane stands in defiance to every other; It cannot be classified as a Realistic plane due to the unstable nature of its existence. However, it is not a Metaphysical plane, as it abides by physics and is not shaped by thought. Created by the Terran plane, this began as a network and wound up taking on a life of its own. It's inhabited by anything and everything imaginable, and is the largest known plane in existence.
