Jewels leaves Ermaria at Nioca's insistence taking Will's body with her. Unable to go get Stillborn as well, she decides to prepare for the trip to Corel only to find that Nioca has stripped her of adminship and locked her out of her office leaving her with nothing and no where to go. She manages to convince Syla to let her get a few things from her room before taking her things to Nioca's citadel. He took her room, she'd take his. Back at the portal Jewels paced waiting for someone to bring Stillborn through but no one ever did. She did see Acky, Iffy, Saph, and Vergil come through, though. The archway collapsed in on itself and disappeared. Seconds later, Jewels collapsed. When she opened her eyes, she was with Nioca in a very crowded Ermarian afterlife. A little arguing, another encounter with The Stranger, and Jewels opens her eyes again, being resurrected by Syla. Only she's not just Jewels, she's Nioca, too. They take the soul crystal back to Nioca's bunker and get his admin keys and RMM-A. It shows that Stillborn and Nalyd made it back somehow so after a bit of relief, Jewels heads to the admin. tower intent on finally getting to Corel to get Will; Azuma, Jumara, Nalyd, and Stillborn in tow. This whole destroyed universe bit caused a lot of distractions.

Jewels' teleporting to Corel makes the Admin tower collapse, but Syla is able to have some new bots repair it. Meanwhile, the Stranger takes over the body of Kaylas and stages a coup in the fire plane intent on destroying Jewels' body and Nioca with it.

Dantius, after paying a medium sized fortune, escapes from his former life and arrives at the Refuge only to find it inhabited primarily by bots, his arrival predating that of the refugees and former members. After questioning Ligrev, Dantius heads over to the Geneforge forum to steal various things, after which he heads back to the inn, satisfied.

At the refuge, Syla does her best to manage the refuge on her own, but the systems that were put on auto-pilot are starting to amass vehicles of war by themselves. Syla's not sure what they are doing or how to stop it. In Corel, Jewels loses consciousness to the creature that the conjoining with Nioca has created. The tavern is burnt down and people are killed by her while she is unawares. In an alleyway Nioca regains control and casts Control Foes on Nalyd, Jumara, and Stillborn so they forget what happened. Jewels starts to regain consciousness and control not realizing what has happened. She spies her finished dragon which Nalyd doesn't remember completing.

After searching the Fire Plane for a few hours, Iffy and Saph finally stumble upon who they needed to find. After a little introduction, the one they needed (Esur) and his partner Ruse attacked them. After a short battle with some nasty tricks by Iffy, they surrendered and Esur found the location of who Iffy and Saph really needed to find. They transported back to the Refuge and fell asleep in the "slums".

Vergil goes to attack the Stranger with the 7th Regiment of Bluebloods. He seemingly captures the Stranger and Watson in the butterfly box before making their retreat. In some other plane of existence, an unknown creature writhes in pain.

Jewels and her dragon get to know each other before Azuma appears to show them to their rooms for the night. Azuma realizes that something is really wrong with Jewels. The next morning, Jumara and Jewels discuss how they should proceed and decide they'll need to go to Mead.

While the ghost of w-dueck eavesdrops on various conversations, Jumara and the others looking for him are invited to an audience with the Queen. They make their way towards the Royal Tower but the guards that brought them turn out to be Fire Elementals ready to ambush them and intent on taking Jewels and Stillborn with them. With her new found abilities, though, Jioca makes little work of their attackers. They continue on to meet the Queen who informs them that the VRP have infiltrated her lands and taken over her kingdom. Jewels struggles to retain her own identity as they board a ship for Deseret where the Queen says they will find Will. It is normally a two week journey but Jewels manages to cut it down to one by basically turning into a jet engine for the boat. The town is rather busy and among the people in the crowd, Jewels sees w-dueck.

Pestilence finishes the bio-weapon he was making and presented it to its buyer. They offered him another job but he refused. When he left, the buyer sent assassins after him but he killed them easily. Pestilence left intent on returning to the Refuge.

While heading for the Google port, Iffy and Saph encountered Eva and Emair, who were threatening to kill them to help stop a man's plans. Nix steps out of another Google transport, startling them. The four teamed up against Nix, but with each minute they wore down. Eventually Nix manages to kill Eva and Emair and steals their power and soul. After knocking a chunk off of the wall of the Admin Tower, he leaves the Refuge.

The Refugees are reunited with w-dueck's spirit. He takes them to the Syphria clan claiming Jewels as his miernen (devoted). There they meet his son Kelyn and raise an army to fight the VRP in Corel. The VRP are defeated and everyone goes back to the Refuge. There, w-dueck's spirit is reunited with his body and Syla turns on Jewels demanding Nioca back.

Syla and Aryll fight Jewels for the return of Nioca. After skewering her on Avenger, they restore all of the dryad/tree souls Nioca had saved from Ermaria, relocating them in the Refuge forest. They take Jewels' body to have her tree absorb her. After a day, Nioca's body is expelled from Nana.

Nana sorts out the being Jioca back into Jewels and Nioca. Before she expels his body, she represses his negative memories and revives his positive ones especially focusing on the good things Jewels has done for him. Nana then transfers Jewels to a native tree that is willing to give its life force to her. Jewels takes Will's body, which lives but is ice cold, to the BoE forum and waits for him to revive. She begins to feel an unknown hunger.

A dryad condition of her physiology. Azuma brings Will the crystals he gathered in Corel. Will finds out Nioca has taken over the refuge and makes plans to get it back from him.

Iffy and Saph create an illusion to help Will retake the Refuge from Nioca and Syla. Will forgives Nioca but says he won't be so forgiving next time. He and Jewels start fixing the Refuge up properly and Will creates a ring with the Corellian crystals and the power of the Refuge computer.

Will serenades Jewels in the lounge where she finally agrees to marry him. She asks Vergil to walk her down the aisle, he agrees but neglects to tell her what he came to say. The wedding is held and Will gives her the ring he created.

Nioca tries to work himself into an alcohol induced coma to endure the wedding night, but is woken by the mental link to Jewels anyway. Desperate to get away from the images of them together he causes Jewels to flame up. It didn't stop their intimacy but the emergency protocol he had only partially installed before did. It transported everyone in the Refuge to the lounge. Jewels, angry at Nioca's intervention, flew off in flame taking him into the forest. She is unable to stay mad at him but her condition flares up again. Nioca knocks her out and dryads emerge to help her. Jasmine tells Nioca he as the cure to Jewels' condition that she calls a "fire fever". The other dryads scare Nioca away, though. He stays to eavesdrop about the dryads' argument. Nana restores the suppression of the fire fever and has the dryads walk her to the edge of the forest. Jewels is dazed when Will finds her and takes her, already sleeping, back to their room.

qUe comes to the Refuge luring Iffy and Saph away. Esur and Ruse come looking for Iffy and a fight. They battle Jewels and Azuma instead. Iffy remembers that Nix was his former lover and forms a friendship with qUe. Iffy, Saph and qUe show up to help fight against Esur and Ruse but Nix shows up too killing the latter couple. Both Iffy and Nix absorb some of their power before Nix leaves.

Nioca attempts to take over the Refuge, and is instead absorbed by it and turned into a human Bot. w-dueck and Jewels attempt an intimate situation but her fever kicks in. She inadvertently kills him but saves his soul and travels to Corellia to meet his mother, and then to the Ice Plane. w-dueck is then reincarnated as [[Sylae Corell]] and returns to the Refuge, in total four months after the wedding.

Iffy, Saph, and qUe with Reth teleport to another plane to search for Iffy's soul box. Four months later, they raze a town full of thousands of soldiers, apparently finally able to get the soul box back. Back at the Refuge, Nix comes in and forcefully has Ligrev pour him some coffee without alerting the adminship, but she manages to alert them anyways.

Ligrev sees Azuma when he is not on guard and it damages her. He fixes the problem and they share an intimate night, but he dreams of Jewels. He leaves in the morning writing Ligrev a goodbye note. He returns after four months of training himself to be able to use the fire elemental form he learned from Jewels.

Then Jewels goes to see Sylae right before events in The Second Kiss and returns to Nana before events in Observation.

The Blueblood base is under heavy attack. Vergil comes back to the Refuge to ask Jewels to come with him, being almost killed by a poorly calibrated portal. She heals him but tells him no. A bot gives him an invitation to w-dueck's funeral.

Many people have different concerns the day of w-dueck's funeral. Jasmine and the dryads receive an invitation and she hopes to talk to Jewels about this tragedy. Nalyd experiments on the blood sample from Nix, seemingly oblivious to the world around him. Jewels sneaks Stillborn down to her lab and takes a moment to relax and work with Nio. Later right before the funeral begins, Sylae reviews why she must regain control of the Refuge from Jewels, and Jewels considers her vows to her husband.

Azuma starts out excited for the prospects that w-dueck's death opens up for him. Iffy and Saph learn of his death and mourn for him causing Azuma to realize that he should, too, but can't.

From Sylae's point of view, she listens to Jewels's eulogy and gives her acceptance speech letting the Refugees believe she is Will's twin sister. She then De-admin's Jewels. Many Refugees don't take the news well and Jewels feels the affects from her soul bonding to them. She quiets them all by accepting Sylae's decision without argument. Then Sylae asks for Jewels's wedding ring which she is not so willing to give up. Vergil and Azuma start fighting Iffy and Saph while Jewels reaches her breaking point. Without access to the Refuge database anymore, she is left without the safety procedures she put into place. Sylae is unable to grant her access in time. The post leaves off as she begins to erupt.

From Nio's point of view he observes the ceremonies through Jewels and talked to her about her illness. The behind the scenes consequences of her losing adminship are shown as the chaos of the Refuge brings Niocabot to frenzy and the turmoil of Jewels's friends drive her over the edge. The post ends with her feeling the heat of her eruption.

From Iffy's point of view, he observes events after Jewels is de-admined. He mentally communicates with Saph who prompts him to take action just as Jewels is erupting. With his soul box energy, he encases Jewels in the forcefield she needs. The process burns him and he ends up throwing Jewels into the AdminTower. Sylae heals Iffy's hands and asks him to be an Admin with her. Nalyd appears, having watched events from the sidelines. He gathers a sample of Iffy's blood for further testing.

Niocabot heeds the intruder alert warning and shields him and Jewels off from the rest of the Refuge. She is burned and barely breathing. When she stirs, she tells him to "Stop." which clears his mind of all the errors her de-adminship has caused. Jewels reestablishes mental communication with him through Nio and finds that she can't move before slipping back into unconsciousness.

Unable to do anything more for Jewels, Nio gets the laboratory back in working order while he waits. Sylae leads Vergil, Azuma, Iffy and Saph up to the thirteenth floor where they see Jewels and Niocabot behind a forcefield. Sylae is unable to lower the forcefield so Vergil and Azuma use their fire elemental forms to fly in through the hole her body made. Azuma uses Sentience to heal Jewels through the activation of her ring. He throws his cloak around her and flies her out the hole.

During the night, Jewels rested at the Lounge Inn and Sylae explained some things to Iffy, Saph, and Vergil. Jewels came down and declared she was leaving. Sylae protested and asked for the ring back again. Jewels cut off her hand and threw it at her. The ring grew back, though, and Jewels left the Lounge with Vergil and Azuma following her.

Nalyd questions his findings of Iffy being the same person as Nix. He goes to the Lounge looking for Stillborn, but finds Iffy, Saph, and Sylae there instead. Nalyd wants to experiment on Jewels's severed hand but Sylae takes it with her when she leaves. Instead, Nalyd injures Iffy and Saph on purpose and leads them towards his Geneforge lab. Ligrev also struggles with her conflicting desires and leaves the Lounge in search of Azuma.

==== Don't Go Into the Light (Jewels) ====

Jewels introduces Vergil and Azuma to Nio. Nio puts Jewels into stasis to perform some dangerous Blades Nexus creation using her and Stillborn’s essence. Vergil explores behind the doors in Jewels’ lab, and ends up chasing Jak into Nio’s workarea, interrupting him.

==== Awakening (Jewels) ====

Azuma pulls Jewels from stasis while Vergil finds the Fire Plane artifact Jak had taken, the Camarine, at the nape of Jewels’ neck and can’t get it back. Nio succeeded in his creation of another “biological” son for Jewels and Darius, created to be 12 years old. Iffy and Saph wake up no worse for wear, but Nalyd still can’t figure out what species they are.

Reth and qUe kill Sal and Eoli, absorbing their essence.

==== Nix of Kin (Jewels) ====

Nix makes her way to the Refuge.

Sylae takes Jewels’ wedding ring to the database core to destroy it.

Jasmine plots with Nana to hold Jewels and force a cure on her, but Nana is unable to absorb her into her trunk, stating that “The stone has her.” Jewels teleports to the fire plane with Vergil, Azuma, and her new son Aden.

==== The Second Hand (Jewels) ====

There is a database blackout at the Refuge and Nioca dies. Nio revives him using the raw energy of the database once it starts back up, but Nioca is still unconscious. Nio brings Nioca to Jewels’ lab to watch over him.

==== Logical Logistics (Jewels) ====

Nalyd discovers Stillborn is in stasis from his magical diagram, but he can’t pinpoint his location. Sylae finds that Ligrev is missing from the lounge. Nio hacks his way into being in control of the Admin Tower by convincing a disoriented Nioca that he is himself.

==== Hiding in Plain Sight (Jewels) ====

Nio goes to the Admin Tower to give Jewels back her Admin status, which stops all the errors caused by her de-adminning. He hides her account from Sylae.

==== To Your Health (Jewels) ====

With the Refuge errors silenced, Nioca is feeling better, and exploring the lab. Thinking he’s Nio, Jewels comes back and grabs him, teleporting him out within a matter of seconds.

==== And They Did (Jewels) ====

Jewels teleports Nioca to the Fire Plane, severing him from the Refuge database. She doesn’t have time to take him back and convinces him that her mind is the new database for him to connect to. Aden and Prince Darius are about to be executed, Azuma is missing, and Jewels and Vergil plan a risky mission with the Blue Bloods to rescue them. Nioca observes and tries to regain his humanity while battling a beguiling bit of programming implanted from the destruction of Jewels’ ring in the database core.

==== The Boy, the Man, and the Lone Flame. (Jewels) ====

Azuma is hiding among the enemy, pretending to be a Pureblood and hoping to rescue Jewels, who he thinks has been captured with the others. Prince Darius and Aden talk about whether they fear death in their cell, and Aden reveals an unnatural wisdom.

Jewels wakes up to find Nioca has gone rogue. He has taken her guidance to heart and is thinking for himself again. Nioca went alone to get Darius and Aden out of prison, but Jewels is following behind with a stealthy group of Bluebloods.

Nioca runs into Azuma and together they kill the guards around the prison cell for Aden and Darius. Jewels and the Bluebloods show up in time to keep the last guard from sounding the alarm. Jewels teleports six of them back to the refuge and Nioca discovers the intelligence behind the Camarine.

Meanwhile, Jewels and Vergil leave for the water plane, leaving Nio to look after Nioca. Azuma roams the Refuge forest, being freed of his beguilement. He runs into a confused Ligrev that doesn’t understand what happened to give her emotions.

After encouraging her at the bar, Sylae makes Iffy an Admin. They have a pillow fight with Saph.

Under the influence of the Rot, Nalyd demands an audience with Sylae, having discovered that the Who’s Online marker for Nioca is often in the citadel which is on lockdown. Together with Iffy and Saph, they theorize that Jewels must have hidden Stillborn at the citadel, but they don’t know how she got in.

==== Seek and Find (Jewels) ====

Sylae confronts Nio about Stillborn being missing and in stasis. With Nioca’s help he comes up with a believable lie, and Sylae instructs him to bring Stillborn back to Nalyd. Nioca is the one who brings him back. He then reveals to Sylae that he isn’t a slave of the Refuge anymore. Trying to be true to her new self, Sylae promises to trust Nioca.

==== Liquid Fire (Jewels) ====

Nalyd begins to shape Stillborn again. Nix makes a potion that allows her to absorb the essence of someone who isn’t kin. She absorbs Clyde’s essence as a test.

==== Byte from a Bug (Jewels) ====

Ligrev struggles to understand that she is a computer program, and Azuma reveals that he was programmed to be a computer virus. He corrupted her and used his sword, Sentience, to restore her with AI.

==== A Lie to Die For (Jewels) ====

Reth and qUe arrive at the Refuge plotting to kill Iffy and Saph. Azuma reveals his origins to Sylae and argues for Ligrev’s right to life. Sylae convinces Ligrev to be the barkeep again, but only if she makes them a home above the Lounge. Iffy and Saph meet with Reth and qUe, unwittingly agreeing to team up with them against Nix.

Nioca returns to the citadel, walking amongst the Ermarians.

Syla and Nioca reconnect after his absence, but he is called away by Nio. Nalyd completes his creation as Stillborn is broken and transformed into Dunstan. Nioca is working on a project at the lab that needs attention, but he won’t let Nio know what it is. Syla finds out about Nio and ponders what the future might look like for the three of them.

Nix tracks “the beast” with the powerful essence to the Geneforge lab. Nalyd is still unconscious, but she finds Dunstan and tries to absorb his essence. Meanwhile, Azuma and Ligrev show up investigating the power outage from Nalyd’s shaping and fight with Nix. Nix escapes taking Dunstan with her, and Nalyd wakes up in a rage.

Nio, Nioca, and Syla take a day of leisure away from the refuge, not knowing Nix is on the loose at the Refuge. Everyone else at the Refuge looks for Nix and Dunstan. Nalyd reveals that Iffy, Saph, and Nix are part of the same creature since they have the same DNA.

==== And it All Falls Apart (Jewels) ====

Syla finds out that Jewels is involved in Nio and Nioca’s situation and leaves angry. They stay behind and find a painting depicting a dryad with the fire fever. Jasmine tells Sylae about Jewels’ sickness. Reth and qUe trick Saph and Iffy into following them, and ambush them. Saph is killed, putting Iffy in a rage. Sylae kills Reth, then Iffy kills qUe. He absorbs all of their essence and mourns for Saph.

==== Piecing it Together, Yes. (Jewels) ====

Nio and Nioca are pulled into a different plane where Aggie tells them Nioca must gift Jewels with life to save her.

==== Just What They Don't Need, or Is it What They Do? (Jewels) ====

Jewels comes back to the Refuge for a “vacation” with her friends only to find Nio and Nioca are not on the internet plane. She helps Nalyd find Dunstan, flaunting her Blades Nexus power, before she has to go back to the fire plane again. Nylad’s creation is unconscious, but he doesn’t know why.

==== Burying the Past (Jewels) ====

Sylae notices that Jewels is at the Refuge and goes to investigate, being drawn into the white world for 8 internet hours. Iffy digs Saph’s grave by hand and goes to the pond to wash when he’s done. Nix wrestles control of Dunstan’s life essence and goes to confront Iffy at the pond. He tries to talk her into a truce but Sylae interrupts them and Nix panics, throwing a spirit-killer at Iffy, killing him.

==== Everybody Dies (Jewels) ====

Nix absorbs all of Iffy’s essence so she is whole again. Sylae tries to fight her but she doesn’t compare to Nix’s power. Nix might just kill them all.

==== But Not Today (Jewels) ====

Nix’s body transforms into Iffy’s likeness. The spell on the spirit killer had been broken before it was thrown so his soul survived and was combined with Nix’s soul and any other part of his soul that wasn’t killed with a spirit-killer. Iffy lost half his soul by splitting it up, but wants to stay at the Refuge where he’s found meaning in friendship.

==== White Waltz (Jewels) ====

Sylae falls asleep and dreams of the white world again. This time she is out for ten days and she is livid when she wakes up. She doesn’t trust this combined Iffy. He offers to prove himself by linking their minds to show her all his secrets, but the link goes both ways and he finds out she has Will’s soul. Sylae still lets him stay at the Refuge as long as he changes his face. He calls himself by his original name Zene.

It’s Aden’s 22nd birthday in the fire plane. Jewels gives him the Camarine as his destiny and succumbs to her sickness as soon as she lets go of it. Aden instructs Vergil to take her to her tree at the Refuge before she dies.

Jewels comes back to the Refuge and finds her friends have missed her. Jasmine tells them what the cure really is, but Jewels still doesn’t want to let Nioca be the cure while the beguilement program is running in his mind.

Syla convinces Jewels to let Nioca into her tree, then waits with Nio to see what happens. Nana bursts into flame, but the fire doesn’t consume her. When Nana flames down, her leaves and branches have recovered.

Nana breaks the beguilement on Nioca’s mind and gives him his own database so he can travel on his own. Nioca agrees to be Jewels’ cure and Jewels accepts his gift. She regains her health and he regains more of his humanity. When they leave Nana’s tree, Nioca proposes, having come to love her without the beguilement programming. They make their way to the citadel for their first night together. At the lounge, Nio relays everything that has happened to the rest of the Refugees. He and Syla go to the water plane for a vacation. The next morning, Nioca reveals he has created a child and transferred Stillborn’s soul to it, starting a family with Jewels.

Nio comes back from the water plane after two weeks. It’s only been a day and a half on the internet. Vergil and Aden come to visit from the fire plan to check on Jewels. It’s the first time Aden has seen her well. But Aden has come with a different purpose, the Purebloods want them to rebuild Ermaria for them, and Aden needs their help. One by one, the Refugees agree to the dangerous task of creating a whole planet.

==== What’s in a World? Part 2 (Jewels) ====

Ligrev and Azuma observe from the Refuge and worry when their life forces seem to start draining away. Dunstan wakes up Nalyd and then everyone else. They each pull away to release the circle. Aden returns to the fire plane, and Nalyd and Dunstan leave for the Geneforge forum. Iffy offers to take everyone else to the newly formed Ermaria, but Azuma and Livvy stay behind. They arrive at a village and Nio and Nioca soon realize it was their home village and their family is alive again.

==== The Last Dance (Jewels) ====

The Refugees prepare a festival in celebration while Ermarians and the dryads are transported to live on Ermaria again. Nio decides to stay on Ermaria with his family, and Syla decides to give Nio a chance, staying with him. At the festival dance, Vergil dances with Sylae and kisses her, but Jewels breaks them up. She turns Sylae’s attention towards Iffy instead. Sylae and Iffy share a moment before deciding to link minds again, permanently. The next day, Sylae and Iffy get married and Sylae reveals to everyone that she has Will’s soul. Vergil is not happy and is banned before he can cause more trouble.

And they all lived happily ever after.

But wait! There’s more. Posted on the 10th anniversary of the adopted start date for FTaWSoTR, a closing scene for Jewels’s last days. This is the only post currently still available and can be found on the Spiderweb Software forums.

Jewels has been called back to the Fire Plane to perform as an ambassador and as a grandmother to Aden’s son Fwae. There was an accident during transit and Nioca was lost to the ether along with all of Nana’s seedlings. But what those on the Fire Plane don’t know is that Jewels and friends set up an alternate plane in secret where Nioca and all of her seedlings reside. She visits this new plane every time she “sleeps” on the fire plane. The new plane has a much faster timeline (112.5 days to every fire plane day) and Jewels is growing exponentially older than the 80 fire plane years she has lived. In the end, she transports to the new plane to finish her days with Nioca while those in the Fire Plane believe she is finally dead.

Mysteriously, William Dylan –the baby with Stillborn’s soul– is not mentioned. One loose end you say? Perhaps. Or perhaps it is its own ball of yarn. ~It is the story that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends.~

She manages to convince Syla to let her get a few things from her room before taking her things to Nioca's citadel. He took her room, she'd take his. Back at the portal Jewels paced waiting for someone to bring Stillborn through but no one ever did. She did see Acky, Iffy, Saph, and Vergil come through, though. The archway collapsed in on itself and disappeared. Seconds later, Jewels collapsed. When she opened her eyes, she was with Nioca in a very crowded Ermarian afterlife. A little arguing, another encounter with The Stranger, and Jewels opens her eyes again, being resurrected by Syla. Only she's not just Jewels, she's Nioca, too. They take the soul crystal back to Nioca's bunker and get his admin keys and RMM-A. It shows that Stillborn and Nalyd made it back somehow so after a bit of relief, Jewels heads to the admin. tower intent on finally getting to Corel to get Will; Azuma, Jumara, Nalyd, and Stillborn in tow. This whole destroyed universe bit caused a lot of distractions.

Syla's not sure what they are doing or how to stop it. In Corel, Jewels loses consciousness to the creature that the conjoining with Nioca has created. The tavern is burnt down and people are killed by her while she is unawares. In an alleyway Nioca regains control and casts Control Foes on Nalyd, Jumara, and Stillborn so they forget what happened. Jewels starts to regain consciousness and control not realizing what has happened. She spies her finished dragon which Nalyd doesn't remember completing.

They transported back to the Refuge and fell asleep in the "slums".

They make their way towards the Royal Tower but the guards that brought them turn out to be Fire Elementals ready to ambush them and intent on taking Jewels and Stillborn with them. With her new found abilities, though, Jioca makes little work of their attackers. They continue on to meet the Queen who informs them that the VRP have infiltrated her lands and taken over her kingdom. Jewels struggles to retain her own identity as they board a ship for Deseret where the Queen says they will find Will. It is normally a two week journey but Jewels manages to cut it down to one by basically turning into a jet engine for the boat. The town is rather busy and among the people in the crowd, Jewels sees w-dueck.

After knocking a chunk off of the wall of the Admin Tower, he leaves the Refuge.

It transported everyone in the Refuge to the lounge. Jewels, angry at Nioca's intervention, flew off in flame taking him into the forest. She is unable to stay mad at him but her condition flares up again. Nioca knocks her out and dryads emerge to help her. Jasmine tells Nioca he as the cure to Jewels' condition that she calls a "fire fever". The other dryads scare Nioca away, though. He stays to eavesdrop about the dryads' argument. Nana restores the suppression of the fire fever and has the dryads walk her to the edge of the forest. Jewels is dazed when Will finds her and takes her, already sleeping, back to their room.

qUe comes to the Refuge luring Iffy and Saph away. Esur and Ruse come looking for Iffy and a fight. They battle Jewels and Azuma instead. Iffy remembers that Nix was his former lover and forms a friendship with qUe. Iffy, Saph and qUe show up to help fight against Esur and Ruse but Nix shows up too killing the latter couple. Both Iffy and Nix absorb some of their power before Nix leaves.

Many people have different concerns the day of w-dueck's funeral. Jasmine and the dryads receive an invitation and she hopes to talk to Jewels about this tragedy. Nalyd experiments on the blood sample from Nix, seemingly oblivious to the world around him. Jewels sneaks Stillborn down to her lab and takes a moment to relax and work with Nio. Later right before the funeral begins, Sylae reviews why she must regain control of the Refuge from Jewels, and Jewels considers her vows to her husband.

Azuma starts out excited for the prospects that w-dueck's death opens up for him. Iffy and Saph learn of his death and mourn for him causing Azuma to realize that he should, too, but can't.

From Sylae's point of view, she listens to Jewels's eulogy and gives her acceptance speech letting the Refugees believe she is Will's twin sister. She then De-admin's Jewels. Many Refugees don't take the news well and Jewels feels the affects from her soul bonding to them. She quiets them all by accepting Sylae's decision without argument. Then Sylae asks for Jewels's wedding ring which she is not so willing to give up. Vergil and Azuma start fighting Iffy and Saph while Jewels reaches her breaking point. Without access to the Refuge database anymore, she is left without the safety procedures she put into place. Sylae is unable to grant her access in time. The post leaves off as she begins to erupt.

From Nio's point of view he observes the ceremonies through Jewels and talked to her about her illness. The behind the scenes consequences of her losing adminship are shown as the chaos of the Refuge brings Niocabot to frenzy and the turmoil of Jewels's friends drive her over the edge. The post ends with her feeling the heat of her eruption.

From Iffy's point of view, he observes events after Jewels is de-admined. He mentally communicates with Saph who prompts him to take action just as Jewels is erupting. With his soul box energy, he encases Jewels in the forcefield she needs. The process burns him and he ends up throwing Jewels into the AdminTower. Sylae heals Iffy's hands and asks him to be an Admin with her. Nalyd appears, having watched events from the sidelines. He gathers a sample of Iffy's blood for further testing.

Niocabot heeds the intruder alert warning and shields him and Jewels off from the rest of the Refuge. She is burned and barely breathing. When she stirs, she tells him to "Stop." which clears his mind of all the errors her de-adminship has caused. Jewels reestablishes mental communication with him through Nio and finds that she can't move before slipping back into unconsciousness.

Unable to do anything more for Jewels, Nio gets the laboratory back in working order while he waits. Sylae leads Vergil, Azuma, Iffy and Saph up to the thirteenth floor where they see Jewels and Niocabot behind a forcefield. Sylae is unable to lower the forcefield so Vergil and Azuma use their fire elemental forms to fly in through the hole her body made. Azuma uses Sentience to heal Jewels through the activation of her ring. He throws his cloak around her and flies her out the hole.

During the night, Jewels rested at the Lounge Inn and Sylae explained some things to Iffy, Saph, and Vergil. Jewels came down and declared she was leaving. Sylae protested and asked for the ring back again. Jewels cut off her hand and threw it at her. The ring grew back, though, and Jewels left the Lounge with Vergil and Azuma following her.

Nalyd questions his findings of Iffy being the same person as Nix. He goes to the Lounge looking for Stillborn, but finds Iffy, Saph, and Sylae there instead. Nalyd wants to experiment on Jewels's severed hand but Sylae takes it with her when she leaves. Instead, Nalyd injures Iffy and Saph on purpose and leads them towards his Geneforge lab. Ligrev also struggles with her conflicting desires and leaves the Lounge in search of Azuma.

==== Don't Go Into the Light (Jewels) ====

Jewels introduces Vergil and Azuma to Nio. Nio puts Jewels into stasis to perform some dangerous Blades Nexus creation using her and Stillborn’s essence. Vergil explores behind the doors in Jewels’ lab, and ends up chasing Jak into Nio’s workarea, interrupting him.

==== Awakening (Jewels) ====

Azuma pulls Jewels from stasis while Vergil finds the Fire Plane artifact Jak had taken, the Camarine, at the nape of Jewels’ neck and can’t get it back. Nio succeeded in his creation of another “biological” son for Jewels and Darius, created to be 12 years old. Iffy and Saph wake up no worse for wear, but Nalyd still can’t figure out what species they are.

Jasmine plots with Nana to hold Jewels and force a cure on her, but Nana is unable to absorb her into her trunk, stating that “The stone has her.” Jewels teleports to the fire plane with Vergil, Azuma, and her new son Aden.

There is a database blackout at the Refuge and Nioca dies. Nio revives him using the raw energy of the database once it starts back up, but Nioca is still unconscious. Nio brings Nioca to Jewels’ lab to watch over him.

==== Logical Logistics (Jewels) ====

Nalyd discovers Stillborn is in stasis from his magical diagram, but he can’t pinpoint his location. Sylae finds that Ligrev is missing from the lounge. Nio hacks his way into being in control of the Admin Tower by convincing a disoriented Nioca that he is himself.

==== Hiding in Plain Sight (Jewels) ====

Nio goes to the Admin Tower to give Jewels back her Admin status, which stops all the errors caused by her de-adminning. He hides her account from Sylae.

==== To Your Health (Jewels) ====

With the Refuge errors silenced, Nioca is feeling better, and exploring the lab. Thinking he’s Nio, Jewels comes back and grabs him, teleporting him out within a matter of seconds.

==== And They Did (Jewels) ====

Jewels teleports Nioca to the Fire Plane, severing him from the Refuge database. She doesn’t have time to take him back and convinces him that her mind is the new database for him to connect to. Aden and Prince Darius are about to be executed, Azuma is missing, and Jewels and Vergil plan a risky mission with the Blue Bloods to rescue them. Nioca observes and tries to regain his humanity while battling a beguiling bit of programming implanted from the destruction of Jewels’ ring in the database core.

==== The Boy, the Man, and the Lone Flame. (Jewels) ====

Azuma is hiding among the enemy, pretending to be a Pureblood and hoping to rescue Jewels, who he thinks has been captured with the others. Prince Darius and Aden talk about whether they fear death in their cell, and Aden reveals an unnatural wisdom.

==== Desirable Disagreement (Jewels) ====

Jewels wakes up to find Nioca has gone rogue. He has taken her guidance to heart and is thinking for himself again. Nioca went alone to get Darius and Aden out of prison, but Jewels is following behind with a stealthy group of Bluebloods.

==== Try to Live Half a Life (Jewels) ====

Nioca runs into Azuma and together they kill the guards around the prison cell for Aden and Darius. Jewels and the Bluebloods show up in time to keep the last guard from sounding the alarm. Jewels teleports six of them back to the refuge and Nioca discovers the intelligence behind the Camarine.

==== The Physics of a Creator (Jewels) ====

Nioca’s soul meets the soul behind the Camarine in the white world, while his body is unconscious in the internet plane.

==== Confessions of a Barkeep (Jewels) ====

Since Ligrev is missing, one of the Ermarians, Clyde, becomes a barkeep. Nix comes in pretending to be one of them and tricks him into taking her home. Meanwhile, Jewels and Vergil leave for the water plane, leaving Nio to look after Nioca. Azuma roams the Refuge forest, being freed of his beguilement. He runs into a confused Ligrev that doesn’t understand what happened to give her emotions.

==== Tale Feathers (Jewels) ====

After encouraging her at the bar, Sylae makes Iffy an Admin. They have a pillow fight with Saph.

==== Hide and Seek (Jewels) ====

Under the influence of the Rot, Nalyd demands an audience with Sylae, having discovered that the Who’s Online marker for Nioca is often in the citadel which is on lockdown. Together with Iffy and Saph, they theorize that Jewels must have hidden Stillborn at the citadel, but they don’t know how she got in.

==== Seek and Find (Jewels) ====

Sylae confronts Nio about Stillborn being missing and in stasis. With Nioca’s help he comes up with a believable lie, and Sylae instructs him to bring Stillborn back to Nalyd. Nioca is the one who brings him back. He then reveals to Sylae that he isn’t a slave of the Refuge anymore. Trying to be true to her new self, Sylae promises to trust Nioca.

==== Liquid Fire (Jewels) ====

Nalyd begins to shape Stillborn again. Nix makes a potion that allows her to absorb the essence of someone who isn’t kin. She absorbs Clyde’s essence as a test.

==== Byte from a Bug (Jewels) ====

Ligrev struggles to understand that she is a computer program, and Azuma reveals that he was programmed to be a computer virus. He corrupted her and used his sword, Sentience, to restore her with AI.

==== A Lie to Die For (Jewels) ====

Reth and qUe arrive at the Refuge plotting to kill Iffy and Saph. Azuma reveals his origins to Sylae and argues for Ligrev’s right to life. Sylae convinces Ligrev to be the barkeep again, but only if she makes them a home above the Lounge. Iffy and Saph meet with Reth and qUe, unwittingly agreeing to team up with them against Nix.

==== Beyond the Ward (Jewels) ====

Nioca returns to the citadel, walking amongst the Ermarians.

==== What the Heart Wants (Jewels) ====

Syla and Nioca reconnect after his absence, but he is called away by Nio. Nalyd completes his creation as Stillborn is broken and transformed into Dunstan. Nioca is working on a project at the lab that needs attention, but he won’t let Nio know what it is. Syla finds out about Nio and ponders what the future might look like for the three of them.

==== Abominable Pest (Jewels) ====

Nix tracks “the beast” with the powerful essence to the Geneforge lab. Nalyd is still unconscious, but she finds Dunstan and tries to absorb his essence. Meanwhile, Azuma and Ligrev show up investigating the power outage from Nalyd’s shaping and fight with Nix. Nix escapes taking Dunstan with her, and Nalyd wakes up in a rage.

==== One Foot in Front of the Other (Jewels) ====

Nio, Nioca, and Syla take a day of leisure away from the refuge, not knowing Nix is on the loose at the Refuge. Everyone else at the Refuge looks for Nix and Dunstan. Nalyd reveals that Iffy, Saph, and Nix are part of the same creature since they have the same DNA.

==== And it All Falls Apart (Jewels) ====

Syla finds out that Jewels is involved in Nio and Nioca’s situation and leaves angry. They stay behind and find a painting depicting a dryad with the fire fever. Jasmine tells Sylae about Jewels’ sickness. Reth and qUe trick Saph and Iffy into following them, and ambush them. Saph is killed, putting Iffy in a rage. Sylae kills Reth, then Iffy kills qUe. He absorbs all of their essence and mourns for Saph.

==== Piecing it Together, Yes. (Jewels) ====

Nio and Nioca are pulled into a different plane where Aggie tells them Nioca must gift Jewels with life to save her.

==== Just What They Don't Need, or Is it What They Do? (Jewels) ====

Jewels comes back to the Refuge for a “vacation” with her friends only to find Nio and Nioca are not on the internet plane. She helps Nalyd find Dunstan, flaunting her Blades Nexus power, before she has to go back to the fire plane again. Nylad’s creation is unconscious, but he doesn’t know why.

==== Burying the Past (Jewels) ====

Sylae notices that Jewels is at the Refuge and goes to investigate, being drawn into the white world for 8 internet hours. Iffy digs Saph’s grave by hand and goes to the pond to wash when he’s done. Nix wrestles control of Dunstan’s life essence and goes to confront Iffy at the pond. He tries to talk her into a truce but Sylae interrupts them and Nix panics, throwing a spirit-killer at Iffy, killing him.

==== Everybody Dies (Jewels) ====

Nix absorbs all of Iffy’s essence so she is whole again. Sylae tries to fight her but she doesn’t compare to Nix’s power. Nix might just kill them all.

==== But Not Today (Jewels) ====

Nix’s body transforms into Iffy’s likeness. The spell on the spirit killer had been broken before it was thrown so his soul survived and was combined with Nix’s soul and any other part of his soul that wasn’t killed with a spirit-killer. Iffy lost half his soul by splitting it up, but wants to stay at the Refuge where he’s found meaning in friendship.

==== White Waltz (Jewels) ====

Sylae falls asleep and dreams of the white world again. This time she is out for ten days and she is livid when she wakes up. She doesn’t trust this combined Iffy. He offers to prove himself by linking their minds to show her all his secrets, but the link goes both ways and he finds out she has Will’s soul. Sylae still lets him stay at the Refuge as long as he changes his face. He calls himself by his original name Zene.

==== A Day to Remember (Jewels) ====

The refugees celebrate at the lounge.

==== Passing the Flame (Jewels) ====

It’s Aden’s 22nd birthday in the fire plane. Jewels gives him the Camarine as his destiny and succumbs to her sickness as soon as she lets go of it. Aden instructs Vergil to take her to her tree at the Refuge before she dies.

==== Reunion (Jewels) ====

Jewels comes back to the Refuge and finds her friends have missed her. Jasmine tells them what the cure really is, but Jewels still doesn’t want to let Nioca be the cure while the beguilement program is running in his mind.

==== Enduring Vigil (Jewels) ====

Syla convinces Jewels to let Nioca into her tree, then waits with Nio to see what happens. Nana bursts into flame, but the fire doesn’t consume her. When Nana flames down, her leaves and branches have recovered.

==== Behind the Eyes (Jewels) ====

Nana breaks the beguilement on Nioca’s mind and gives him his own database so he can travel on his own. Nioca agrees to be Jewels’ cure and Jewels accepts his gift. She regains her health and he regains more of his humanity. When they leave Nana’s tree, Nioca proposes, having come to love her without the beguilement programming. They make their way to the citadel for their first night together. At the lounge, Nio relays everything that has happened to the rest of the Refugees. He and Syla go to the water plane for a vacation. The next morning, Nioca reveals he has created a child and transferred Stillborn’s soul to it, starting a family with Jewels.

==== What’s in a World? Part 1 (Jewels) ====

Nio comes back from the water plane after two weeks. It’s only been a day and a half on the internet. Vergil and Aden come to visit from the fire plan to check on Jewels. It’s the first time Aden has seen her well. But Aden has come with a different purpose, the Purebloods want them to rebuild Ermaria for them, and Aden needs their help. One by one, the Refugees agree to the dangerous task of creating a whole planet.

==== What’s in a World? Part 2 (Jewels) ====

Ligrev and Azuma observe from the Refuge and worry when their life forces seem to start draining away. Dunstan wakes up Nalyd and then everyone else. They each pull away to release the circle. Aden returns to the fire plane, and Nalyd and Dunstan leave for the Geneforge forum. Iffy offers to take everyone else to the newly formed Ermaria, but Azuma and Livvy stay behind. They arrive at a village and Nio and Nioca soon realize it was their home village and their family is alive again.

==== The Last Dance (Jewels) ====

The Refugees prepare a festival in celebration while Ermarians and the dryads are transported to live on Ermaria again. Nio decides to stay on Ermaria with his family, and Syla decides to give Nio a chance, staying with him. At the festival dance, Vergil dances with Sylae and kisses her, but Jewels breaks them up. She turns Sylae’s attention towards Iffy instead. Sylae and Iffy share a moment before deciding to link minds again, permanently. The next day, Sylae and Iffy get married and Sylae reveals to everyone that she has Will’s soul. Vergil is not happy and is banned before he can cause more trouble.

And they all lived happily ever after.

But wait! There’s more. Posted on the 10th anniversary of the adopted start date for FTaWSoTR, a closing scene for Jewels’s last days. This is the only post currently still available and can be found on the Spiderweb Software forums.

Jewels has been called back to the Fire Plane to perform as an ambassador and as a grandmother to Aden’s son Fwae. There was an accident during transit and Nioca was lost to the ether along with all of Nana’s seedlings. But what those on the Fire Plane don’t know is that Jewels and friends set up an alternate plane in secret where Nioca and all of her seedlings reside. She visits this new plane every time she “sleeps” on the fire plane. The new plane has a much faster timeline (112.5 days to every fire plane day) and Jewels is growing exponentially older than the 80 fire plane years she has lived. In the end, she transports to the new plane to finish her days with Nioca while those in the Fire Plane believe she is finally dead.

Mysteriously, William Dylan –the baby with Stillborn’s soul– is not mentioned. One loose end you say? Perhaps. Or perhaps it is its own ball of yarn. ~It is the story that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends.~

With his brother Borris, he moved in with Chayne and his sister Avery who also lost their parents in the same battle. At the age of 18, Alex went to claim his promise from The Wisdom and was gifted with quality military training which he took advantage of for three years until he moved away from Kavaccet. He is now living in Brittner village.

== Mentality ==
Alex has a hero complex. Because he was a coward who failed to act on a loved one's behalf in the past, he now goes out of his way to 'save' those he thinks need it. This is especially true of Kavaccetian women who have been given in promise to abusive or unloving men. Part of him despises every promise of The Wisdom when the gift is a Bloom.

== Residence ==
Alex lives in Brittner, though nothing is known of his home at this time.

== Possessions ==
Other than a horse, a sword, and the clothes on his back, Alex's possessions are unknown.

== Relationship with Others ==
Unless you are on the receiving end of a Promise of a Bloom from The Wisdom, Alex seems like a pretty good guy. But he is not afraid to fight against what he considers injustice.

Alex thought that Fiora was yet another girl that needed saving from an ill-given promise. He was surprised when she fought him and even more surprised when she turned on him in vengeance. His current opinion of her is wary, though he respects her for the way she fights for the one she loves.

Alex really thought Civyl was the bad guy. The bruising on Fiora's neck and his guilty pallor had solidified that opinion. When Civyl hesitated to finish him off with Alex's dropped sword, he took advantage of the moment to trip him into a fire, supposedly killing him. Civyl stormed in during Fiora's vengeance, practically saving his life and showing Alex that he wasn't as much a villain as he had thought.

Civyl is tall and well built, but not overly so. He has a rugged look to him and keeps a short scruffy beard. He lost his right eye to a burn and a scar that runs from his brow to his cheekbone from it. His voice is low and has been said to rumble like thunder.

== Origin ==
Civyl is a native of Kavaccet and has helped raise Fiora for the last 16 years. Not much more is known IC at this time.

== Mentality ==
The Sight caused Civyl to forget who he was and who everyone else he knows is. In its place, The Sight has given Civyl a quest to reach the Enundale mountain pass in a fortnight. It is almost all he can think of and when he waits too long to move, there is a pain in his side from the pull of it. But he is also tied to Fiora. He wanted to leave her behind so he could travel faster, but each attempt to do so has cost him energy and his pride. He is physically unable to go far from her. In addition Civyl has realized that there is a sorcerer who has the power to control his thoughts and actions making him strangle Fiora when her spirit was off on the wind. Unsure of anything except that he must reach the mountain, Civyl's emotional state is rocky at best.

== Residence ==
Civyl owns a house in Kavaccet but he has abandoned it for his quest to reach the mountain pass.

== Possessions ==
A house full of housey stuff waits for him back in Kavaccet, but all he has with him is a pack, some changes of clothes, some weapons not described yet, a dagger in his boot, a bedroll, and provisions for travel.

== Relationship with Others ==
Civyl has forgotten who he is and who everyone he has ever known are. This makes it difficult to have good relations with anyone.

=== Fiora Sae Grue ===
She is way too familiar with him in his opinion, but there is something about her that he is drawn to. When he attempted to leave her behind, he found himself physically unable to and blamed sorcery. After he experienced anger and thoughts that urged him to kill her, Civyl vowed he would protect her instead. He has been an awkward advocate since.

=== Alex ===
This is the guy that tipped him in a fire and left him for dead. To make matters worse, he kidnapped his promise and stole his pack with all of his non-burned-to-ash clothes in it. Running through the forest naked did not give Civyl any warm fuzzy feelings towards him.

* Currently 16 years of age.
* Fiora was promised to Civyl Tor Dyias when she was only 3 months old and has lived at the Sanctuary under The Wisdom's tutelage for her whole life.
* The wind is her element and she communicates with it both listening to what it can tell her about her surroundings and asking it to act on her behalf in offensive attacks.
* Fiora was chosen by the wind to be its vessel, The Knowledge. As such her spirit may walk with the wind away from her body, though not always where she wants it to go.

== Physical Appearance ==
Fiora's flowing, white, sleeveless gown of her Coming of Age ceremony was ruined when she aided Nivia in saving Alex's life. The old woman burned the blood soaked cloth without her permission. She is currently wearing a deep blue dress with sheer sleeves as seen in the photo. It belonged to Avery, deceased sister of Chayne and wife of Borris. Fiora has never worn shoes and seems to float above the ground because the air cushions her walk. She has long brown hair that has never been cut.

== Origin ==
Fiora was born in Kavaccet and grew up at the Sanctuary. On her 65th season of life, about a week ago, she was considered an adult by their culture and released to her family and her promise.

== Mentality ==
Fiora has a pretty strong mental capacity. Bright and intelligent, she was trained by the best that Kavaccet had to offer. She has suffered some emotional trauma, though, since coming of age. She thought she would be wed to her love, Civyl, but the day she came home, he had forgotten everything about her. Still she was his promise and had to follow him wherever he went. That meant a trek across forests and into the Mountains, which has not been the easiest. She had to leave behind everything she knew and struggles to teach Civyl what he has forgotten.

In addition, her spirit has been travelling the lands forcing her to see some of the terrible things that go on in it. The deaths in a burning village were especially horrific. An unknown man also tried to kill her during her maiden flight.

When she first encountered Alex and the other Birchwood Brothers, they practically kidnapped her and - she thought - killed Civyl. After mourning his supposed death, she turned on Alex in revenge only to find Civyl was still alive. She helped to save Alex's life from the stab wound she inflicted and has started to see all of the Birchwoods in a better light. Her faith in The Wisdom has been shaken by them, though.

== Residence ==
Fiora used to live at the Sanctuary in Kavaccet and was going to move in to Civyl's home when she came of age, but moving in has been postponed as they travel to unknown lands instead.

== Possessions ==
Fiora had to leave rather quickly and did not have time to pack much. She pretty much has the clothes on her back, a bedroll, and travelling provisions. Her mother did pack something special in the bottom of her bag but she has not found it yet.

== Relationship with Others ==
Fiora is generally pleasant to get along with but she does have a temper when annoyed. This aspect of her personality has reared up in her relationships with other characters.

=== Civyl Tor Dyias ===
Fiora has known Civyl her whole life. While The Wisdom kept her busy and safe at the Sanctuary, she was allowed much free time to spend with her promise. He read her bedtime stories, played games with her, made art projects with her, helped her with homework, and sparred against her. She loves him deeply and he loves her... Except he doesn't remember her.

Since The Sight took him, Fiora's relationship with Civyl has been awkward. He considered her a burden to his real quest but he could not leave her behind. As she continued to love him his suppressed feelings for her started to resurface, especially after she had been kidnapped by the Birchwoods. Their relationship now is one of strong commitment.

=== Alex ===
Fiora was first introduced to Alex when he and three of his friends decided to attack Civyl thinking that he was holding her captive. In the confrontation, Alex trips Civyl into a fire that seems to consume him. Hatred for Alex soon followed and she attempted to get vengeance on him, coming close to killing him, just before she found out Civyl had survived the fire. Nivia convinced her to help save his life and has begun to see him in a better light, realizing he was trying to help her.

The Birchwood brothers are not all biological brothers but they consider each other family. Borris, Chayne, and Demil often spend their time saving people from poor circumstances along with their unofficial leader Alex. They were brought together through a series of unfortunate events that let to all of them becoming orphans. They consider The Wisdom to be a false god and poor excuse for a leader of Kavaccet. Whenever they encounter an abusive man with his promised Bloom, they step in to free the woman from her promised fate. They are well known in Brittner village where they live though the opinions of the townspeople are split as to whether they are heros or troublemakers.
